Inchiquin Lake is a magnificent lake nestled in the lush, Irish countryside and on the edge of the Burren.

The Lake provides us with a beautiful, scenic spot to observe all the wild life that thrive in the surrounding areas. Inchiquin sits gracefully at the base of surrounding hills outside the lovely village of Corrofin and is home to some exquisite species of birds, including White Tailed Eagles, Kingfishers, Grey Herons, as well as white and black swans, mallard ducks, and many, many more.

On the North side of the Lake, sits a ruin of an old banquet hall and spiral staircase, a great place to stop for a snack and a bit of exploration!

This tour is perfect for a family day out, and with our tandems, children as young as 6 can paddle with their parents and explore the Lake and its hidden ruins!

Kayaking on Inchiquin Lake will treat you to a wild life-watching extravaganza!

Highly Recommend!!

My girlfriend and I got brought out on Inchiquin Lake with Patrick. He provided us with wetsuits, lifejackets and waterproof jackets as the weather was very hit and miss! He also gave us a guided tour of the lake, river and wildlife surroundings. We were supposed to go out for 2.5 hours but Patrick took us out for 3 instead. Very good value for money, brilliant experience and I cannot recommend Patrick enough. Absolute gentleman and all round sound bloke! 10/10

Kayaking Lake Inchiquin

My daughter and I enjoyed and morning paddle on Inchiquin lake. There were many swan, a gray herring and other birds. The walkabout of the castle was lovely. You are still able to see the banquet hall with the three fireplaces on one wall and windows looking out on the lake on the other. The spiral staircase of the Castle Itself into the tower is still visible. Patrick our guide was very knowledgeable about local history, birds and plants. Highly recommend!

Burren Paddling

Super morning's paddling with Patrick and Stephen from North Clare Sea Kayaking.
With the weather being a little uncertain Patrick was really flexible and able gave us a number of options, a possible evening paddle on Saturday or if the conditions didn't suit a Sunday morning alternative. With a fresh breeze blowing and sea conditions a bit too rough we were able to have a great lake and river paddle on lough Incihiquin and the river Fergus.
Beautiful new kayaks. Super stable singles and a pair of tandem kayaks so our friends could take their young teenage kids.
A new and beautiful way to see this lush part of the Burren.
We'll be back again for some sea trips with Patrick and his guides.

Fantastic paddle on Lake Inchiquin

Patrick met us at Lake Inchiquin, just the 2 of us. We were delighted. What a privilege. Patrick brought us on the Lake, up the river Fergus and to an ancient castle. Beautiful. He was able to tell us all about the history of the area and all about the flora and fauna etc. We would highly recommend North Clare Sea Kayaking and we will probably go again for sure, coastal this time.

Fantastic kayaking!

I really wanted to do some sea kayaking but this kayaking trip to Lake Inchiquin was simply fantastic. The kayaks and all the gear were in great condition, Patrick provided a very good orientation and was an extremely knowledgable guide. We started along the lake shore and paddled up to the Fergus River, with Patrick providing insightful comments along the way. I was really struck by the beauty of the Irish countryside. We saw a lot of birds and cows along the river and stopped a couple of times, including a visit to some ruins where he gave a great history of the place. Next time I'm in the area, I will definitely go on another trip with this outfit.

Better than surfing!

Whatever the weather you cant go wrong on this trip. The sea was a bit rough so we headed to the very beautiful Inchiquin lake for a paddle,Patrick was so nice and really informative about the area. After we got the hang of going forward, six of us headed around the lake shore and up the river Fergus. Watching the swans and herons skimming the water before taking flight right in front of us was simply stunning. Paddling upstream while ducking under branches and surveying the cows and horses in the adjacent fields was idyllic. i loved every minute of this trip.
